Key Projects

Peel has a proven track record of delivering high quality, sustainable developments from intu Trafford Centre shopping destination, Gloucester Quays Outlet Centre and MediaCityUK to business parks throughout the UK.

The development pipeline for the next 20 years and beyond is significant with more than 33,000 acres of land to be developed that could deliver more than 125,000 residential units and approximately 50 million sq. ft. of commercial space.

Some of the current major developments in the pipeline include:

  • Chatham Waters - Peel's plans to transform 26 acres of brownfield land on part of Chatham Docks into an exciting £650 million mixed-use development which have been given the green light by Medway Council.

 

  • Glasgow Harbour - a new district in the vibrant West End of Glasgow providing an integrated mix of high-quality commercial, residential, retail, leisure and public space.

 

  • Ince Park - Ince Park will be a modern, clean and sustainable park, focussed on reprocessing and remanufacturing waste materials

 

  • Intu Trafford Centre - a 2 million sq. ft. shopping centre which was delivered by The Peel Group and is now part of Intu Properties plc, in which Peel holds a major shareholding.

 

  • Liverpool 2 - a new 42 acre container terminal which can accommodate the Post-Panamax sized container vessels.

 

  • Liverpool Waters - regenerating a 60-hectare stretch to create a world-class, high-quality, mixed-use waterfront quarter in central Liverpool.

 

  • MediaCityUK - the new home for the BBC, ITV, Coronation Street, SIS and the University of Salford. Peel’s vision is for MediaCityUK to become a global hub for innovation and content creation.

 

  • Ocean Gateway - the renaissance of a strategic corridor encompassing the City Regions of Liverpool and Manchester and adjacent areas within Cheshire and Warrington.

 

  • Peel Logistics - Peel Logistics is a new strategic project within The Peel Group that covers 66 sites across 6,000 acres of land throughout the UK.

 

  • Port Salford - a £138 million project with planning permission to develop the UK's first tri-modal (served by road, rail and short-sea shipping) inland port facility and distribution park on the Barton Strategic Site adjacent to the Manchester Ship Canal.

 

  • Rossfield Park -  transforming a key area in the heart of Ellesmere Port – an up and coming Town in Cheshire.

 

  • Wirral Waters - a mixed use development focused on the semi-derelict Birkenhead and Wallasey dock system

 

  • Worsley New Hall - a project which is researching the possibility of using the site of the Hall for the development of a high quality country house hotel and a championshiop golf course in the unique setting.
