Board Appointment

Peel Holdings p.l.c. (Peel) announces the appointment of Thomas E. Allison as Ports Director with effect from 24th March 2003.

Announcing the appointment the Chairman, John Whittaker said:
“The Group’s Ports operations following the acquisition of Clydeport comprise Greenock, Glasgow, Ardrossan and Hunterston on the West Coast of Scotland and the Manchester Ship Canal in the heart of the North West of England.

We are delighted that Tom Allison, who has been Chief Executive of Clydeport since 1997, is joining the Board of Peel Holdings and will take executive responsibility for the Peel Group’s combined Ports businesses.

Tom Alllison is highly regarded given the success delivered at Clydeport and his wide experience should help the Port Operations exploit new business opportunities and prove a valuable addition to the Peel Board. ”

Additional Information

Thomas E. Allison (age 55) held senior management positions with Rank Xerox plc, Scottish & Newcastle plc, ADT plc and CSC Forest Products Limited before being appointed Chief Executive of Clydeport plc in 1997. He is also a non-executive director Celtic plc, ECO European Limited, The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Wood Mackenzie Limited.
