1000 New Jobs For Trafford

Peel Holdings have announced that up to 1000 new jobs could be created at their new landmark office development adjacent to The Trafford Centre.

Venus, Manchester is the largest speculative office building in the North West to start on site in 2003. Currently under construction with completion due in December this year, Peel believe that the Grade A quality 8 storey building will attract a major investor to the area following on from their success at attracting quality organisations such as Marks and Spencer to Salford Quays, and they are currently in discussions with a number of potential tenants.

Neil Fountain, Chief Executive of Manchester Investment and Development Agency Service said:

"Trafford Quays is a prime location for such an outstanding corporate office facility. It is in the heart of Trafford Park with excellent access to the motorway network and close to our major international airport”

This latest development brings the total jobs generated by Peel Holdings in Trafford to approximately 10,000, of which 7000 are employed at The Trafford Centre. Peel’s other developments include the adjoining regional sports complex consisting of Playgolf, David Lloyd and JJB, and the nearby Tulip Inn Hotel. Venus is the latest phase of the regeneration of the Trafford Quays area.

Council Leader David Acton said he was delighted with the news.

“We welcome the expected 1,000 new jobs the office development will create. Confidence is high in Trafford with many people and businesses wanting to move into the area. This is great news and reflects Trafford’s thriving and booming economy,”
