New EventCity video released at EventCity Live!
Gloucester Quays has confirmed its first ever Garden Party Festival was a resounding success! According to the organisers 60,000 people ventured out over the Bank Holiday weekend (7th-9th April 2012) to hear ‘People’s Gardener’ David Domoney on Saturday; Irish charmer Diarmuid Gavin on Sunday; and BBC Gardeners World favourite Carol Klein on the Monday.
The combination of three well known Celebrity Gardeners, close to 70 stalls selling a wide variety of fashion, garden and food, plus the daily fashion shows proved a winner. The FREE 3-day festival also included live music and activities for the kids plus fantastic Easter shopping offers on top of the usual 70% retail discounts at the Centre.
Richard Rawlings, Gloucester Quays Centre Manager confirmed: “What a great weekend we’ve just had! Despite the weather trying to spoil things we were overwhelmed with the number of people that came over the 3 days. David, Diarmuid and Carol proved to be really popular and our Potting Shed was full with our other guests giving their tips on everything from flower arranging to beekeeping.
“The Fashion show also proved popular, covering what to wear at a Day at the Races to festival fashions,” continued Richard. “It helped showcase some of the fantastic price deals we’ve got here and many stores were inundated with shoppers all day!”
The Gloucester Quays Garden Party had three key themes of Fashion, Flowers and Food and given how popular it was, is likely to return again in 2013.
