An opportunity has arisen to purchase Castle Quay, the Grade II-listed mixed use, building in Castlefield, Manchester City Centre.
The landmark property is currently owned by Peel Land and Property and is home to popular Radio station Key 103 along with other occupiers including Edmond Shipway, Kinetic Worldwide, Choice Bar & Restaurant, MGP investments and Eight Cafe Bar. None of the existing tenants or occupiers will be affected by the sale.
Castle Quay comprises 23,586 sq. ft. of commercial accommodation and car parking on a site of circa 2.08 acres and produces £324,280 per annum. It is being marketed by Jones Lang LaSalle with an asking price of £3,400,000.
The property is prominently located adjacent to the A56, Chester Road which is one of the main arterial routes into Manchester City Centre. It is also ideally located for easy access to the major road and motorway network being just 1 mile from the A57 (M) ring road (Mancunian Way).
Castlefield is a well-established waterfront environment which has seen many of the original brick buildings and warehouses converted to create modern high quality apartments, offices, bars and restaurants.
James Porteous of Jones Lang LaSalle commented “We expect to receive significant interest from both local and national investors for this historic, well let, character property situated in very prominent gateway location into the City Centre.”
The property was built in 1831 by the Manchester Ship Canal Company. It was originally used to store maize transported using the Bridgewater and Rochdale canals. The property was sensitively renovated and converted into its current configuration which still retains many of the original features.
