Peel celebrates Partington Shopping Centre opening with free Family Fun Day

To celebrate the completion of Partington Shopping Centre, Peel Land and Property is hosting a family friendly community event with an Easter theme.

Taking place from 11am until 3pm on Saturday 28th March, Partington Shopping Centre will bring fun, free activities to its market square including a bouncy castle and an Easter bonnet competition with some great prizes to be won. With something for all the family - children are invited to meet the Easter Bunny and pose for pictures throughout the day while live music will entertain the crowds and the weekly market will offer some great buys.

The event will also be an opportunity for local groups to showcase their work and engage with the local community and a chance for the people of Partington to enjoy their new amenities.

Now home to Tesco Express, Heron Foods and Extra Care, Partington Shopping Centre is going from strength to strength as it welcomes new retailers to the town, including Sayers and McColls.

Commenting on the community open day, Louise Morrissey, Director of Land and Property speaking for Peel who developed Partington Shopping Centre with CPUK said “We’re delighted to be able to host the community open day as a celebration of Partington, and its new shopping centre that offers local residents a great mix of amenity stores. We have put together a great program of entertainment to celebrate this milestone and hope to see lots of local people on the day, enjoying the family fun, and embracing the community spirit.”

Peel will also be resurrecting the concept of the much loved Partington Library Window and visitors at the open day will have the opportunity to leave their favourite quotes, photographs or hand drawn pictures in a box for the chance to become a part of the new design which will be positioned on the new shopping centre.

In December, a ceremony was held to mark the opening of Partington Shopping Centre, with special guests attending including the Mayor of Trafford, Ejak Malik; Councillor Michael Hyman, Executive Member for Economic Growth at Trafford Council; Sean Anstee, Leader of Trafford Council; Helen Jones, Corporate Director for Economic Growth, Environment and Infrastructure.
