A unique investment opportunity
A successful hotel project requires the following elements:
- The right site/planning permission
- On budget and on time construction
- The right brand/operator
Peel Leisure, as part of The Peel Group can provide all these elements in one package.
The Peel Group has over 30,000 acres of land at its disposal with Peel Leisure allocated an abundance of prime hotel locations to develop, including those in city centres, at motorway junctions and on mixed-use schemes. This first tranche of sites is focusing on the limited service market but opportunities are available elsewhere for both mid-scale and full service four star plus operations.
The Peel Group has a specialised team dedicated to processing successful planning applications. Some of the sites already benefit from planning permission but all are considered to meet current requirements for hotel developments.
The Peel Group has a first class track record for bringing large scale projects in on budget and on time. The Trafford Centre in Manchester and more recently MediaCityUK at Salford Quays are prime examples of our expertise. All of Peel Leisure`s operating hotels have been constructed under our own supervision.
Peel Leisure currently operates four hotels. In November 2008 we opened the 103 room Ramada Encore at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield. This was followed by the 160 room Hampton by Hilton at Liverpool John Lennon Airport in October 2009.
In September 2010, Peel Leisure took over the operations of the 100 room Holiday Inn Express at Speke, and in November 2010 the 218 room Holiday Inn Manchester-MediaCityUK was officially opened by IHG CEO Andy Cosslett.
These hotels are all operated under franchise agreements with the major international brands and we will be able to secure further agreements with the appropriate brands on a site by site basis.
Peel Leisure is now a successful operator of branded, limited service, mid-scale hotels. As our operations have expanded, recruitment has focused on providing the necessary personnel to resource this next phase of development. Utilising The Peel Group’s internal administration and outsourcing other functions,
Peel Leisure is solely focused on the operations to maximise profitability and the return on investment.
