Peel Environmental is at the forefront of developing new infrastructure to satisfy the needs of the waste and environmental technology sectors. We see the need to develop low carbon solutions to the waste and energy challenges we face as an important opportunity to create new and innovative development.
We aim to develop Resource Recovery Parks – modern, clean and sustainable industrial parks that are focused on the reprocessing and re-manufacturing of waste materials with the efficient use of energy. We believe that providing specialist business space for the environmental technology sector in a holistically masterplanned development setting is one way to address some of the environmental challenges we face, in addition to providing major economic benefits. Peel Enironmental and Covanta Energy have joined forces to deliver a £500m investment to develop an Eco Park and Energy from Waste Facility at Ince 10 miles east of Chester.
Mineral extraction holds an important position in the Peel Group’s history and continues to be an important part of the company portfolio. Peel Environmental owns several sand, gravel and hard rock quarries across the North West.
