Peel Environmental owns and manages several strategic waste management sites, including landfill sites in Wigan and Warrington. This also includes construction and demolition waste recycling sites at Thelwall, Warrington and at Fletcher Bank Quarry near Bury.
We recognise that there is a need to continue to provide waste disposal capacity for waste that cannot be re-used, recycled or used to provide heat and electricity. We will continue to provide landfill sites such as the one at Arpley in Warrington which is the largest landfill site in the region, and which also provides significant levels of renewable energy by using landfill gas.
