Hot Water Quality
Utilities Services (MediaCityUK) Ltd’s main responsibility is to supply you with high quality hot water. To ensure your supply remains at this high quality, we advise you to constantly use it at each outlet ie kitchen taps, shower etc, to prevent any form of stagnation and the chance of bacteria forming in the system which supplies you.
Utilities Services (MediaCityUK) Ltd aim to provide you with enough hot water 24 hours a day, every day of the year, for normal domestic use such as for: bathing/showering, household cleaning, washing clothes and dishes etc.
Utilities Services (MediaCityUK) Ltd will provide a minimum pressure of 7 metres static head (7 metres static head allows you to fill a 10 litre bucket from your kitchen tap in approximately one and half minutes). We will make sure the pressure is strong enough to reach the top level of every building.
Pressure in your home can be affected by a number of factors that include:
- the height of the property above the water main in the street;
- the condition of the hot water service pipe;
- the layout of the hot water service pipe;
- peak demand conditions; and
- the plumbing inside your premises.
If you think you have a problem with your water pressure, check the internal stop tap is fully open. If you are still not happy, please contact us on 01254 662323 and we will carry out a check for you.
Responsibility for Pipes
Utilities Services (MediaCityUK) Ltd are responsible for the hot water system from the central boiler house to the internal system within the building where your premises is located, inclusive of the pipes that run up to the stop-tap in your premises.
The customer is responsible for the pipes that run from the stop-tap to the individual hot water taps within the premises.
