Peel's proposed £50 billion investment strategy for the North West.
Opened in 1991 by Olympic Gold medallists Jane Torville and Christopher Dean, Blackburn Ice Arena is an Olympic size ice pad offering everything from a fun family day out to professional coaching up to British and World Champion level and is the North West's Regional Centre of Ice Skating Excellence.
With the capacity for 1500 skaters on the pad and arena seating for 2700, this premier ice skating facility offers something for everyone. Year round skating, disco sessions, family skating, holiday fun plus party and catering facilities make this venue one of the most popular leisure destinations in the area.
Heading the team is Karen Barber who judges TV's popular Dancing On Ice and her husband Stephan Pickavance who also coaches the show's celebrities.
The Arena is also home to semi-professional ice hockey team, The Blackburn Hawks and also has 5 junior ice hockey clubs.
The Arena can be found on the Peel Centre Blackburn which is ideally located just half a mile south of the heart of Blackburn Town Centre and offers customers a mix of food, fashion, electronics, home, leisure and fitness.
The retail park is home to Asda, Halfords, Mothercare, Maplin Electronics, Jysk, Burger King, Chiquitos and Frankie & Benny’s in addition to the Ice Arena.
