Blackburn Ice Arena

From family fun to professional skating

Opened in 1991 by Olympic Gold medallists Jane Torville and Christopher Dean, Blackburn Ice Arena is an Olympic size ice pad where you can enjoy a fun family day out or receive professional coaching up to British and World Champion level.

With the capacity for 1,500 skaters on the pad and arena seating for 2,700, this premier ice skating facility offers something for everyone. Year round skating, disco sessions, family skating, holiday fun plus party and catering facilities make this venue one of the most popular leisure destinations in the area.

For those with ambitions to take their skating to a higher level the arena offers a NISA Skate UK Programme and can arrange one-to-one lessons with one of 10 NCCP qualified professional coaches.

The Arena is also home to semi-professional ice hockey team, The Blackburn Hawks and also has 5 junior ice hockey clubs.

The Arena can be found on the Peel Centre Blackburn which offers customers a mix of food, fashion, electronics, home, leisure and fitness.
