Peel's aviation interests include four airports in the North of England and a helicopter charter company.
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is the UK’s newest purpose built international airport. The Airport serves more than 40 destinations and is capable of handling approximately two million passengers and 50,000 tonnes of freight a year by 2014.
Huge investment in Durham Tees Valley Airport, by Peel, has resulted in an access road to the terminal, car park improvements and an enlargement of the terminal building. It serves UK and European destinations.
Major investment is planned for City Airport & Heliport which is currently a general business and aviation airfield. More than 120 small aircraft are based at the airport, with 50,000 take offs and landings per year.
Peel also operates Cardinal Prestige Helicopter Charter who provide the perfect VIP travel partner for business and events whose home-base is at City Airport & Heliport, which offers discreet passenger transfer and on-site facilities for private business meetings.
The Peel Group with its majority partner Vantage Airport Group, invest in Vantage Airports UK which owns Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).
LJLA is one of the UK’s top 10 busiest airports. In 2012, it handled over 4.5 million passengers and serves almost 60 European destinations and is a base for Europe's two largest low-cost airlines, Ryanair and easyJet.
